Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas: Movie Review

Film stars are known for launching their kids into films and their first film is always looked upon with bated breath as the audience is eager to witness whether the sibling moves forward the legacy or not? This week's release #PalPalDilKePaas is a launchpad of the third generation of Deols. #SunnyDeol returns as a director once again after #GhayalReturns. Does he succeed or fail? Let’s analyse

Synopsis

#PalPalDilKePaas tells the story of Karan Sehgal (#KaranDeol) who owns a trekking club at Manali and one girl Seher Sethi  (#SahherBambba) visits his club. How they fall in love is the gist of the film.

Direction

Not all good actors can be good directors and #SunnyDeol has proved this again and again. His direction is lacklustre and looks like he is very lazy in narrating the script and has no control over the story he wants to tell (My advice would be he should stick to acting and leave the job of the director to someone else).

Technical Department

Cinematography is an asset of the film. The locations of #Manali are shot beautifully, and cinematography is the only good thing about this film. Editing is average. Music is below average which is very shocking considering it’s a launch pad of a star's son and the subject is romance.

Story and Screenplay

The plot of the film has been repeated umpteen number of times in several movies over 100 years, and it does not excite us anymore. Moreover, the absence of twists and turns in the screenplay make you impatient and bored after a certain point of time.

Performances

#KaranDeol will surely create a new benchmark in wooden acting! It’s utterly shocking and sad that the son of a megastar and superb actor #SunnyDeol and grandson of #Dharmendra does not hold his ground in acting! His expressions are pure wooden. It seems as if #SunnyDeol forced him to pursue acting against his wishes. He looks handsome and innocent too but as far as acting is concerned, he still has a long way to go. #SahherBambba is a talent to watch out for! She will surely go miles ahead. She has perfect screen presence, and her acting is very good. Rest of the cast play their parts well.

WMR Verdict

#PalPalDilKePaas proves once again that you may get a best and easy platform to become the main lead if you are a child of a star, but still, you can fall flat if you don’t have any talent. It’s one of the most disappointing films of the year. It can be easily avoided.

WMR Rating: 1.5/5
