Synopsis

'Chintu Ka Birthday' tells the audience a story of an Indian family who fails to come back to India after the invasion of Iraq by the United States which overthrew the Government of Saddam Hussain. The story is set in the time period just one year after the beginning of the war in Iraq. The Indian family wants to celebrate Chintu's birthday this time after his birthday got ruined in the previous year. Will they be able to bring some happiness on the face of their 6-year-old child? You have to watch the film to get your answer.

Direction

The smart writing is the main USP of 'Chintu Ka Birthday'. The director duo Devangshu Singh and Satyanshu Singh have been able to execute the storyline perfectly. The helplessness of the Indian family is well- depicted throughout the whole movie. The makers have not tried to go into the detailed description of the war of Iraq and the political consequences associated with it. Rather they have tried to keep the storyline as simple as possible. The depiction of the backstory in the innocent voice of 'Chintu' at the beginning of the movie sets the tone for the movie. The credits should also be given to team AIB for backing such a wonderful film.

Performances

The performances of the actors in the film are commendable. Vinay Pathak gives another genuine performance as Chintu's father. He is complemented well by Tilottoma Shome throughout the movie.

Vedant Chibber's innocent face will certainly win the hearts of the audience, and his expressions are also quite impressive. Bisha Chaturvedi has depicted much maturity as Chintu's sister. The supporting cast, including Seema Pahwa, has also given its best in this film.

Editing

The editing of the film is praiseworthy. The movie is only 1 hour 23 minutes long. The makers have certainly been able to keep the audience intrigued till the end.

Cinematography

The cinematography of 'Chintu Ka Birthday' is decent. The whole movie is shot in one house. Few scenes will certainly remain in the mind of the audience for a long time.

Music and Background score

The song 'Kuheliya' adds a sweet flavour in this film. The Arabic song is also used quite well.

'Chintu Ka Birthday' is certainly a must-watch film in this difficult time period. This is a perfect kind of film for OTT release. This film has the potential to be the game changer for Zee5 in this competitive market.
